15mm Phalanx element done

Yesterday i painted a base of pikemen for my Pyrrhic/Alexandrian army. This is how the pikes look like:

It was not easy to paint the faces and some of the pikemen have strange poses. Anyway: a battle impression!

I hope you like it. Comments, hints and critics are welcome too :)

Something new!

I have needed some variety and begun paiting some 1-72 World War Two Germans. The situation shown acts somewhere in the east, 1943. Figures by Revell, crafts by Italerie! It was a lot of fun painting new scale miniatures although i have to say that deflashing the figs can cost nervs!

The thing from the swamp...

Yesterday i bought a turtle toy kid in order to use it as behemoth or beast for my Hordes of the things armies. The turtle is from Schleich and costs me 4,99€. The result without any brushstroke on the model:

The original as you can buy it by Schleich.

As you can see i have only added some swamp grasses, slobber and blood effects to the figure!

Slobber and Blood closeup:

For upgrade i could make the model looking more wet as though the turtle came fresh out of the swamp. As paint job i could paint the claws, eyes and beak. What do you think? And for the next time blood+ slobber should flow more natural than too distand like shown on the pic!

Summing up its a nice, cheap chance for adding special monsters to your army and so award more eye candy!

I hope you like it. Comments, hints and critics are welcome too :)

Some battle impressions

Somewhere in time, long long ago. During the reign of Pyrrhos of Epirus, close to the Epirote border, two small forces prepare for battle.

The Pyrrhic force:

The Thracian force:

Next elements will be some Phalangites.
